Jenny Moore, Program Coordinator, joined FFEN in 2019 providing support as FFEN’s first ever AmeriCorp VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). In the VISTA role of Food Shelf Capacity Mobilizer, Jenny developed and administered FFEN’s first food shelf satisfaction survey in addition to designing more formal volunteer processes. Jenny also worked to develop a survey that captured the experiences and aspirations of food shelves engaged with FFEN’s services. In the second year of their VISTA role, they worked as Volunteer Program Capacity Developer, working closely with a volunteer to both automate volunteer processes and vet volunteer management databases, developing new skills to later be used in support of FFEN’s work with food shelves across the state.  Jenny transitioned to the Program Coordinator role in February 2021 and serves as the first point of contact for food shelf support and stewards the Food Sourcing Analysis (FSA) Report creation in collaboration with FFEN’s team of Data Analyst volunteers.

Prior to their work at FFEN, Jenny was the Barns and Gardens Director at Farm & Wilderness in Vermont, leading staff in teaching and creating curriculum for 9 to 14-year-olds on topics such as garden maintenance, cooking, farm animal care, food preservation and more. They also served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Food Preservation, a course at Green Mountain College.

Jenny holds BAs, Summa Cum Laude, in both Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems and Animal Conservation & Care with a minor in Environmental Studies from Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT, and is certified in Advanced Permaculture Design.
