Dianne Davis-Kenning has spent more than 30 years helping food shelves through her role at University of Minnesota Extension.
Now, she’s joining FFEN as a part-time consultant for the rest of 2025, bringing with her experience and knowledge from her time as SuperShelf coordinator.
“I’ve always partnered with FFEN in different capacities and now, seeing what FFEN actually does, is amazing,” Davis-Kenning said.
SuperShelf is a specific kind of food shelf transformation that focuses on a bright look, fresh food and food categories that results in certification after a set of criteria are met. As a food shelf goes through the SuperShelf process they receive a Food Sourcing Analysis report and consultation from FFEN to look at how they’re spending their money on different food categories and the associated costs.
Davis-Kenning, who has supported 56 food shelves through the SuperShelf process since 2018, said she’s excited to work more deeply with FFEN.
“It’s a whole new step in learning more about how to help food shelves,” she said. “So many of the tools FFEN has created, I didn’t even know existed.”
Davis-Kenning lives in Dassel and works remotely. Through the years she’s played an integral role in the development and implementation of countless food shelf trainings and resources. She has shared her food shelf work on an international level and her contributions have been featured in multiple publications.
