Quentin West, MPH, FFEN’s Program Specialist for the last year, has accepted a new position with Ramsey County and his last day at FFEN will be Monday, August 28th. As is often the case in transitions like this, we are excited for Quentin’s new opportunity and also sad that we’ll no longer be working beside him on a daily basis. Quentin has brought an amazing ability to connect with food shelf leaders and volunteers to his role with FFEN over the last year. His roles at two previous food shelf organizations serving the east metro, Merrick Community Services and Keystone Community Services, allowed him to instantly form relationships with other food shelf leaders.
Quentin’s contributions over the last two years as both a previous volunteer and staff member have helped FFEN evolve and positioned us well for the next chapter for the organization. He has brought a strong vision to our programming for relationship building and identifying additional ways to support food shelf leaders across the state. Please join us in thanking Quentin for his passion and work at FFEN over the last year!
Quentin shared the following as he reflects on this transition:
When I found FFEN, I knew it was the exact place I had been looking for since I moved to Minnesota in 2017. So, when the Program Specialist position was created, I jumped on it right away. My path to the Hunger Relief sector was an accident originally, but it has been such an amazing learning experience that continues to evolve. I’ve met a countless number of incredible individuals across the state of Minnesota and beyond while here at FFEN, with our own staff and volunteer teams right at the forefront.
Leaving FFEN is a bittersweet decision, but one I had to make for my personal journey. I am beyond grateful for everyone I’ve come across, and will continue to watch from the sidelines as the MN Hunger Relief sector moves toward a more person-centered, just system that communities can predictably rely on. I hope to see folks in the future and look forward to connecting in other ways.
If you’d like to share a note of appreciation with Quentin, you can email him at quentinwest@ffen.org until Monday, August 28th.
After August 28th, please email programs@ffen.org for any follow-up.
